In the morning, today we will take a breathtaking flight from Kathmandu to Lukla set at the height of 2827m. During the flight, you will soar above the gigantic Himalayas linking Nepal and China. From Lukla we will start trekking down to the Dudh Koshi River. Subsequently, we will pass side by side with the small location of Ghat (2550m). Trekking ahead, we will arrive at Phakding located at the altitude of 2610m.
On this day, we will walk to Namche Bazaar from Phakding which takes approximately five hours. On the way we will traverse Dudh Koshi river and then go by the wooded area filled with blue pine and rhododendron trees. After that, we will traverse the Dudh Koshi River again at Benkar and here the stunning peak panorama of Kusum Kanguru (6369m), Thamserku (6623m) etc. will captivate you. Also, we will move transversely a suspension bridge to arrive at Namche Bazaar. At Namche Bazaar, we get the most remarkable vivid opportunities of massive peaks -Everest, AmaDablam, Tawoche, Lhotse, Nuptse is visible.
We will on this day rest in Namche Bazaar to get properly acclimatized with the setting at high altitude. According to health experts, acclimatization days during trek is must to avoid altitude sickness. Namche actually is a prosperous village located in a great out-of-the-way concave will give you a spectacular experience. So, here you will have a lot of things to see. We will trek up to Khumjung (Everest View Hotel) from where, the remarkable scenes of the Khumbu peaks like Thamserku (6608m), Ama Dablam ( 6856m) and Mt Everest will captivate you. Plus, we will wander to Thami (3810m) over the glorious Bhote Khola River Valley. Overnight in Khumjung.
As the first rays of the sun rises from behind the tallest mountain on earth, wake up to this amazing views and enjoy the moment. After leisurely breakfast, head down to reabsorb the market scene of Namche Bazaar, which is just one hour downhill. From Namche bazaar, retrace downhill on a steep descent to Dudh Koshi valley. Cross the suspension bridge, and walk along gradual ascend and descending path to Monjo. Monjo is a picturesque village at the edge of Everest National Park, comprising of about 30 houses, in narrow valley at the junction of Thamserku & Dudh Kosi river surrounded by mountains.
Our last day of trekking is gradually downhill till Phakding. You have a chance to visit Gumila monastery from Phakding by walking little more than half hour from the main trail. From Phakding continue following the river valley for a bit and then climb of the side of the ridge to Lukla. Free to stroll or enjoy relaxing afternoon at the hotel.
After breakfast, the 40 minutes’ flight from Lukla brings you back to Kathmandu.
